Kuyper College Athletics "Home of the Cougars"
Welcome from the Athletic Director
Welcome to Kuyper College athletics, home of the Cougars. Thank you for your interest in our Athletic Program. At Kuyper, athletics is an extension of the classroom. Our goal is that each student athlete will experience spiritual growth and academic achievements, build character, sportsmanship, teamwork, and self discipline. Students will also learn how to be influential Christian Leaders.
This is our third year of competition at Kuyper College. I would like to encourage and welcome you and your family to come out to an exciting and entertaining time of competitive basketball, volleyball and soccer. I look forward to meeting each of you, as together we help to support our Kuyper "Cougars."

Mission Statement
The mission of Kuyper College is, "To equip students with a biblical, Reformed worldview to serve effectively Christ's church and his world." It is the same mission that our Lord entrusts to us in Matthew 28:19-20. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Kuyper College Athletic Mission Statement
Students participating in Kuyper College's athletic program will seek to honor Christ through the pursuit of excellence in their studies and in their athletic program. The pursuit of excellence should be evidently clear in the lives of all athletes in the program.
Athletics as an Extension of the Classroom
Competing in athletics with a Christ-centered focus can be one of the most effective and meaningful educational experiences available. As an extension of, and a complement to, the formal educational process of the College, we strive to develop each student's gifts, talents and abilities to the fullest. We believe that the lessons learned in such areas as teamwork, perseverance and servant leadership are difficult to duplicate in the typical classroom setting.
We believe that success is measured not in winning or losing, but by the whole-person development of student athletes as they grow into men and women who will influence the lives of many for Christ.
Because of these beliefs, we want to strive to conduct the athletic program in accordance with the following principles:
Coaches who profess a faith in Christ will staff the athletic department. The coaches will be committed to mentoring student athletes in their Christian walk and preparing them to pursue excellence in all areas of their lives.
Through its recruiting strategies, the athletic department will join the College in its efforts to develop a multi-racial, multi-national, and multi-dimensional student body.
The College will hold student athletes to a high level of academic accountability. Success and progress in the classroom is of high priority and importance for all student athletes.
Student athletes are expected to represent the College at all times with honor, integrity and godly character.
